Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez has rejected a €70 million summer move to Manchester United, according to reports in Spain.
The 21-year-old has only started five La Liga matches so far this season, due to fitness issues and significant competition for places, but he is determined to remain at Camp Nou amid significant interest from multiple Premier League clubs.
Aston Villa and Man Utd are both eager to sign Fermin this summer and are prepared to pay a transfer fee of €70m to land him, as per Sport.

Furthermore, they are willing to double his current salary in order to poach him from Barcelona. However, Fermin has reportedly rejected the chance to secure a lucrative Premier League transfer in order to stay with the Blaugrana.
The Spain international has five goals and five assists in 25 appearances across all competitions so far this campaign and although he isn’t a guaranteed starter, Fermin remains a key player for Hansi Flick’s side.
He has four-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract at Barcelona, but his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at a measly €18.9m due to his lack of consistent game time this season.

Man Utd’s summer transfer plans
Despite their failure to land Fermin, Man Utd are widely expected to sign a new central midfielder this summer due to the likely departures of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.
They are also set to purchase a centre forward following the recent struggles of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee. Viktor Gyokeres remains Ruben Amorim’s preferred transfer target and reports indicate that a deal is in place to land the Sporting CP star when the 2025 summer transfer window opens.
Man Utd could pursue a new winger too, with Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho both potentially set to be sold on permanent deals.
