OFFICIAL: Man Utd complete Patrick Dorgu transfer
Manchester United have officially completed the signing of Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu.
The Denmark international has arrived at Old Trafford for an initial fee of €30 million, plus €5m in add-ons, and he has become the first major senior signing of the Ruben Amorim era.
Dorgu has signed a deal that runs until 2030, with the option for an additional 12 months, and he is expected to become Man Utd's new starting left wing-back.

Dorgu attained a sparkling reputation during his 18 months at Lecce, impressing not just with his performances but also with his versatility. A left-back by trade, the 20-year-old featured mostly on the right wing for the Serie A side this season.
Man Utd have beaten off competition from Napoli to sign Dorgu and they also managed to secure a cheaper deal than initially anticipated as his former club had demanded €40m at first.
Upon confirmation of his move to Old Trafford, Dorgu told the Man Utd website: "I am incredibly proud to be able to call myself a Manchester United player; this is a very special day for my whole family.
“I cannot wait to work with Ruben Amorim; his vision for this team and the future of the club is incredibly exciting. There is a clear plan set out for my development, and I feel that Manchester United is the perfect place to fulfil my potential and complete my huge ambitions."

Dorgu is now expected to slot into Amorim's side before long, with Tyrell Malacia expected to leave the club before the deadline. Luke Shaw has spent most of the season injured (again), so adding a left-sided wing-back was an urgent priority.
Diogo Dalot has done an admirable job in that role so far this season, but Dorgu is expected to replace him long-term, allowing the Portuguese to revert to his favoured role on the right.

However, Dorgu could also occasionally deputise further forward. Man Utd have loaned Antony to Real Betis and Marcus Rashford is expected to join Aston Villa, while there remains uncertainty over Alejandro Garnacho's future.
First and foremost, however, Dorgu will be used as a wing-back and he will be crucial in helping Amorim fully implement his system, which he has so far struggled to do.
