Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund reportedly wants to remain at the club next season, despite his struggles since arriving from Atalanta in 2023.

The Denmark international secured a lucrative €73.9 million transfer to Old Trafford following an impressive breakout campaign in Serie A, but he has been unable to replicate that form in England and he has been heavily linked with an exit this summer.

Hojlund is without a goal in his last 16 matches across all competitions and his tally of just two Premier League strikes so far this campaign is the joint-90th best in the entire division.

Joshua Zirkzee has also failed to impress following his big-money move from Bologna last summer and both players have been tipped to depart amid Man Utd’s pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen.

However, while Zirkzee could secure a move back to Serie A this summer, Hojlund is determined to fight for his place at Old Trafford, despite recent links with a shock move to Leeds United

That is according to Ben Jacobs, who told GiveMeSport: “It’s not true to my understanding, despite some rumours, that Rasmus Hojlund is on Leeds’ shortlist.

“Naturally, it would be a huge fee and a huge wage, the player still wants to stay at Manchester United, and Manchester United have no real ability selling this summer to make anything other than a book loss.

“So it’s been very much dismissed, any links between Hojlund and Leeds.”

Rasmus Hojlund at Man Utd

Hojlund has scored 23 goals in 76 appearances for Man Utd, although he has only netted 12 times in the Premier League and he is expected to lose his place in the starting XI if the Red Devils are able to finalise a deal for either Gyokeres or Osimhen.

The Denmark international still has over three years remaining on his current Man Utd deal, and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €62.6m is largely inflated due to his contract length and age.
