Rashford deal announced: Amorim and Man Utd HUMILIATED by Aston Villa attacker on Instagram
Manchester United completed Marcus Rashford’s loan move to Aston Villa late on Sunday, but while the Red Devils might have hoped this deal would lead to a player moving in the opposite direction, it appears to have had the opposite effect.
Ruben Amorim’s side are chasing offensive reinforcements after they were humbled 2-0 at home by Crystal Palace to leave them 13th in the league and the new manager under serious pressure.
MAN UTD TRANSFER NEWS TODAY: Tel madness overshadows Dorgu arrival
The lack of attacking threat from Man Utd was clear, raising the question once again of whether Amorim was right to chase Rashford from the club. The England international has not played for United since early December, with the 27-year-old not given a sniff since being dropped for the Manchester derby.
While the Red Devils did finally manage to land a major signing in the form of Patrick Dorgu from Lecce over the weekend, they have failed to find an attacker.
Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel continues to be linked with them while Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey is the latest star as been associated with a spectacular Deadline Day deal.
The 27-year-old, who is often a substitute at Villa Park, he said no to United: landing his blow publicly and humiliatingly to the Old Trafford club.

Leon Bailey makes his future clear
Rashford wrote as he announced his signing for Aston Villa on Instagram: “I would like to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan deal happen.
“I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me but Aston Villa was an easy decision - I really admire the way that Aston Villa have been playing this season, and the manager’s ambitions. I just want to play football and am excited to get started.
“I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best for the rest of the season.”
Bailey issued a simple reply: “My g!”
While there was nothing directly insulting to Man Utd in the forward’s actions, it was a public declaration by the player that he has no interest in moving to Old Trafford on Deadline Day. This will sting all the more for Amorim given it was on Rashford’s announcement – a symbolic barb that will be lost on no one.
