Amorim set to AXE Garnacho after latest Man Utd controversy

Ruben Amorim is said to have run out of patience with Alejandro Garnacho’s attitude and the Manchester United boss is reportedly ready to cut ties with the young forward this summer.
Garnacho was once touted as United’s crown jewel after his impressive progress since his debut in 2022, leading to a bumper new contract and claims that the Argentine was unsellable.

However, the 20-year-old has struggled for form and consistency this season with just three goals and one assist in 26 Premier League appearances, prompting United to consider offers for Garnacho due to their PSR struggles.
Chelsea and Napoli had made approaches for Garnacho in January but United’s valuation of more than €60 million proved a stumbling block and the player ended up remaining at Old Trafford.
But his fortunes have not improved in recent weeks and Amorim admitted he would talk to Garnacho about his conduct after the winger walked straight down the tunnel after being substituted in the first half against Ipswich following Patrick Dorgu’s red card.
And it appears the incident could be the last straw for Amorim, with Fichajes claiming that Garnacho’s relationship with United’s coaching staff has ‘deteriorated’ and that a ‘clear decision’ has been made over his future at the club.

Amorim refuses to get embroiled in Garnacho row
Garnacho has not scored for United since November, producing just two assists in his last 20 matches and he his attitude has been questioned by some at many points this season.
However, a fan video from the win over Ipswich shows Garnacho appearing to signal to United’s coaching staff that he was simply going to change his shirt, with the match already in first-half injury time upon his substitution.
Speaking after the game, Amorim suggested Garnacho may have been given permission to head straight to the dressing room, saying: "It was cold and wet, maybe.”
Although some reporters questioned his attitude, leading to Amorim saying: "You are making a connection with [Marcus] Rashford, right? I know. What I am saying is that I'm going to talk obviously with Garnacho about that, so I will talk about that if you want in the next press conference.”
