USMNT star Christian Pulisic 'one step away' from lucrative deal

Christian Pulisic is 'one step away' from signing a new contract with AC Milan, according to Italian media.
The United States Men's National Team attacker has been a man reborn since leaving Chelsea for Italy. Pulisic joined AC Milan for €20.8 million in 2023 after failing to live up to his €64m price tag at Stamford Bridge.
The 26-year-old has notched 27 goals and 20 assists in 87 appearances for the Rossoneri to date, although he hasn't been entirely unaffected by the turmoil at the San Siro this season.

Still, Pulisic is loving life in Milan and he explained the crucial difference between the Rossoneri and Chelsea last year. "The lifestyle over here is definitely a shift from London," he told Fox Sports. "Everything feels a bit slowed-down.
"Obviously nicer weather. It's been a great change for me. Everything was moving kind of 100 miles an hour when I was in London, and the football culture was crazy. Here, I've been able to get away from the game, too, and enjoy the lifestyle, the culture, the food. I'm liking it a lot."

Pulisic to sign new deal
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are set to reward the American with an improved new contract. The Italian outlet reports that Pulisic is 'one step away' from seeing his annual salary rise from around €4m to €5m.
Talks over a new deal have been ongoing for a few months. If agreed, Pulisic would commit to the club until 2028 with an option until 2029. His current contract runs until 2027 with a one-year option for a further season.

The report states that 'the player is now inclined to accept' and that 'the handshake will be soon.' Due to his relatively consistent performances, Milan wanted to move quickly to deter any potential suitors, just like they are doing with midfield star Tijjani Reijnders.
Pulisic is considered 'untouchable' by the club for the foreseeable future and feels at home in Milan.
