Three clubs to trigger Victor Osimhen release clause as €30m-a-year contract offered

Victor Osimhen could land a bumper contract worth €30 million per year as three clubs are reportedly ready to meet his Napoli release clause in the summer.

Osimhen was the subject of an extensive transfer battle last year but after no club was willing to match Napoli’s valuation of more than €120m, no permanent move was brokered. Instead, he moved on loan to Galatasaray.

The goals have continued to flow for the Nigeria international in Turkey and now clubs are gathering to sign him again.

Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG are all ready to trigger the €75m release clause in Osimhen’s contract, according to NapoliMagazine.

These European giants face a leftfield approach from Al-Ahli of the Saudi Pro League, who have a major card to play in the negotiations.

Victor Osimhen: Contract talks are king

Osimhen expects a salary of at least €10m a year, but according to the report, Chelsea can only afford to offer him €8m. This was one of the reasons why a late move to Stamford Bridge last summer broke down.

Personal terms were, however, agreed with PSG at that point. The Parisian club was not willing to match Napoli’s transfer valuation at that time, however.

This suggests that Luis Enrique’s side could be marginal favourites, particularly with Manchester United unlikely to be involved in European football next term.

Al-Ahli are, however, ready to break the bank in an attempt to sign Osimhen. The Saudi club are reportedly willing to offer the hitman €30m a season, therefore making him one of the best-paid players on the planet.

Osimhen was given a similarly lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia last summer but opted to turn it down in the hope he could land a major European club, but such a vast sum of money will be tough to knock back for a second time.
