Gyokeres transfer BOMBSHELL: Chelsea rekindle interest in Man Utd target

Chelsea have reportedly rekindled their interest in Sporting CP centre forward Viktor Gyokeres amid their search for a new striker this summer.

Nicolas Jackson is without a goal in his last eight Premier League matches and Enzo Maresca’s side have intensified their pursuit of a reliable goalscorer ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Ipswich Town star Liam Delap is believed to be Chelsea’s priority target following his immense start to life in the English top flight, although the Blues are also interested in signing Gyokeres, according to GiveMeSport.

The Sweden international was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge last year, but Chelsea’s interest in his services died down amid their pursuit of Victor Osimhen.

However, the Blues have now rekindled their interest in Gyokeres and they are prepared to battle both Arsenal and Manchester United for his signature later this year.

Viktor Gyokeres to leave Sporting CP?

Gyokeres has scored 34 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions so far this season and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at a career high of €75 million.

But, the 26-year-old will be available for a cut-price fee of €70m this summer, as per GiveMeSport, despite the fact his Sporting CP contract reportedly includes a €100m release clause.

The former Coventry City striker is reportedly seeking a hefty wage package from any interested suitors, while he is eager to play Champions League football next campaign.

Chelsea have slipped out of the top four in recent weeks, following a poor run that has seen them only win two of their last nine Premier League matches, although they remain in contention to secure a place in Europe’s elite club competition for the 2025-26 season.

In addition to Gyokeres and Delap, Chelsea are also interested in signing RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko as they look to bolster the attacking options available to Maresca.
