The Gunners are desperate for their star man to return from his unfortunate injury. Saka suffered a hamstring problem in December and has been sidelined since.

His absence has contributed to Arsenal fumbling their challenge for the Premier League title, allowing Liverpool to storm 12 points clear at the summit of the table.

Saka had been in impressive form prior to his injury. The 23-year-old netted nine goals and provided 13 assists in 24 appearances across all competitions, again cementing his place as one of England's best players.

Indeed, his status is reflected in his value. Saka is one of England's most valuable footballers, according to FootballTransfers' Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) algorithm. The winger currently boasts a whopping ETV of €113 million.

Arsenal to hand Saka improved terms

The Hale End graduate is a fan favourite at Arsenal, so it comes as no surprise to hear that the North London giants want to tie Saka to the club long-term.

According to the BBC, Arsenal are planning to open formal talks with him over a new contract as his current deal expires in 2027. Arsenal are keen to avoid 'uncertainty' surrounding the futures of key players like Saka.

Arsenal are also planning contract talks with William Saliba, who has been attracting interest from Real Madrid, while Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri are expected to be fitted with fresh terms imminently.

Arsenal have made initial contact with Saka's camp to indicate their willingness to negotiate and these discussions are expected to accelerate 'in the not too distant future.'

Saka is not too concerned about his future at present. He is fully focused on returning to the pitch after the international break.
