Arsenal are planning a huge fire sale this summer with as many as 12 players on the market to be sold.

That is according to the Daily Mirror, who report that Mikel Arteta is preparing a massive squad overhaul at the end of the season.

Andrea Berta is expected to arrive as the club’s new sporting director this month and his first job will be to get rid of the players who are not in Arteta’s plans.

The players Arsenal will offload

Thomas Partey is out of contract in the summer and Arsenal will not renew the contract of a player now into his thirties.

The same is the case for Jorginho, who is now 33 and past his best. The Italian-Brazilian will also certainly depart after the Club World Cup on a free transfer.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is way down the pecking order at left back, and Arsenal plan to cash in on him this summer.

Another left back, Nuno Tavares, has been outstanding in Italy on loan at Lazio and will make that move permanent.

Another left-footed defender, Jakub Kiwior, will finally be granted his wish to leave and he could return to Italy, too.

Backup goalkeepers Neto and Karl Hein have not impressed Arteta and will be replaced in the summer.

Albert Sambi Lokonga and Fabio Vieira are expected to make their loans to Sevilla and Porto, respectively, permanent.

Marquinhos is also set to return to Brazil permanently after a loan at Cruzeiro.

Reiss Nelson has spent the season on loan at Fulham but Arsenal have no plans to bring him back.

Finally, Raheem Sterling has been a disaster since joining on loan from Chelsea and he will return to Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal are hoping to upgrade on these players they ship out this summer in order to launch a stronger title challenge next season.

The Gunners had hoped to end their 21 year wait for the Premier League title this term but have seen Liverpool run away with the championship.
