'Toothless coach' - Chelsea fans make Maresca sack demand

Chelsea fans have taken to social media to vent their frustration at Enzo Maresca following their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

A first-half header from Mikel Merino was enough to earn all three points for Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, with Chelsea mustering just two shots on target throughout the entire game, despite boasting 59% possession.

The Blues were once again lifeless in attack and their poor form continued with another questionable performance.

Chelsea have only won seven of their last 17 games across all competitions, scoring just 25 goals during that time, and their early-season form is well and truly over.

The west London giants remain in contention to secure Champions League football next season, but a host of fans have turned against Maresca and are now eager for the Italian to become the fourth manager to be sacked since the arrival of Clearlake Capital in 2022.

Chelsea haven’t beaten a team currently in the top-half of the Premier League table since a 3-0 victory over Aston Villa on 1 December, while they are without a win in their last seven away games in the English top flight.

Injuries to Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke no doubt played a role in Chelsea’s blunt attacking display against Arsenal, but Blues supporters have taken aim at their head coach after yet another passive performance.
