Jamie Gittens is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer and he will not command the €100 million fee the Bundesliga side dream of, according to German media.

The England youth international is currently in the midst of a form slump. Gittens hasn't contributed to a goal since Nuri Sahin was sacked as Dortmund coach and new boss Niko Kovac has only given him 12 minutes of football in the past two Bundesliga games.

Prior to Sahin's dismissal, Gittens had been one of the few positives of this hugely disappointing BVB season, but he now seems to have lost his spark.

Inconsistency has always been one of Gittens' biggest problems. Despite his eminent talent, the 20-year-old has yet to perform at an elite level for more than just a few weeks at a time.

He showed huge promise earlier in the season, but there are now once again question marks over the tricky winger, who is still Dortmund's second-best goalscorer this season behind only star striker Serhou Guirassy.

Gittens to leave Dortmund

When he arrived at Dortmund, Gittens was billed as the next Jadon Sancho, but it is now looking increasingly unlikely that he will be able to hit the same heights.

A change of scenery is needed for Gittens and it has been known for a few weeks now that he will likely leave Dortmund at the end of the season if they miss out on Champions League football.

It has now once again been confirmed by Sky Germany that Gittens is planning to jump ship in the summer. Indeed, Dortmund fully expect the youngster to leave the club in the upcoming window.

The Black and Yellow know that it would be fanciful to demand the same €100 million price that they slapped on his head in January, so Gittens will likely be available for a reduced figure.

It has previously been claimed that €80m could do the trick, but even that appears inflated in light of his current slump. Dortmund expect one of Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham or Bayern to start the bidding for Gittens once the campaign draws to a close.

Gittens' future could also influence that of teammate and long-time friend Carney Chukwuemeka. The Chelsea midfielder is currently on loan at Dortmund and the early signs have been very promising.

Dortmund have a €35m purchase option that they would only be able to afford to trigger if they were to get into the Champions League or secure a big sale.
