Chelsea are close to offloading Joao Felix in a deal that could open the door for Victor Osimhen to move to Stamford Bridge.

Jorge Mendes, the super agent in charge of Felix’s future, has confirmed that Galatasaray want to sign the attacker, who is currently on loan at AC Milan from the Blues.

In return, this opens up a place in the Chelsea attack that could be filled by Victor Osimhen, whose loan deal at the Super Lig club expires in the summer and who will be sold permanently by Napoli.

Joao Felix leaving Chelsea

Joao Felix is close to signing for Galatasaray, according to Jorge Mendes, who says that a deal is close.

“If they can reach an agreement with Chelsea, Joao Felix will play for Galatasaray,” he said, according to Sporx.

This will be music to the ears of the Blues’ board, who might have been worried about finding a buyer for the 25-year-old former Atletico Madrid and Barcelona star.

Signed last summer for €52 million, he scored only one Premier League goal for the club before being sent on loan to Milan. After a promising debut, he threatens to fade into obscurity at San Siro.

Galatasaray see Joao Felix as a key player to their project, although it is claimed reaching a financial agreement with Chelsea could be problematic. A loan with a purchase option is cited as a potential solution.

Door opening for Osimhen

Galatasaray’s wage bill will be eased with Osimhen’s departure in the summer, with Chelsea one of the major suitors for the Nigeria international.

With Joao Felix likely to be pushed off the books, there are reports that Christopher Nkunku could also depart, with the France international ready to leave if a suitable offer comes in.

These departures would certainly aid Chelsea’s financial position and could allow them to land Osimhen, who they have been following for well over a year.
