The Premier League side have swooped to sign Corinthians youngster Denner Evangelista, who has agreed to a seven-year deal with the English giants. He will arrive in London in June 2026 and will remain with the Blues until 2033.

Chelsea will pay Corinthians an upfront fee of €10m for the player, with €4m potentially following in bonuses for the full-back, Ben Jacobs has confirmed.

Denner Evangelista’s signing is a continuation of Chelsea’s policy of buying young prospects and handing them long-term deals.

In this case, the Blues have moved particularly early, securing the signature of the Brazil U15 international before he has even played a single first-team game.

The 17-year-old left-back will have to be patient before moving to his new side. He will not turn 18 until 25 February 2026 and will therefore only become eligible to complete the move formally the following summer.

Clearly, the Blues have taken no hard decision over what steps the teenager will take when he hooks up with the team, but there is a possibility that he could hook up with Strasbourg in the way that fellow Brazilian Andrey Santos has done. If there are any work permit issues with the player, he could similarly be sent to France.

There is an obvious belief at Chelsea that Denner has terrific potential, with the teenager the latest in a long line of South Americans that the Blues have snapped up before their 18th birthday.

Kendry Paez is arguably the most exciting of this crop, with the 17-year-old already having been capped 17 times by Ecuador. He will complete his much-anticipated move to Chelsea in the summer from Independiente.
