Trincao, 25, has emerged as a key target for the Red Devils ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window, with Ruben Amorim eager to secure a reunion with his former Sporting CP pupil.

Manchester City are also interested in bringing Trincao back to the Premier League, following his underwhelming spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers, although Man Utd hold a key advantage in the race for his signature.

United in Focus have reported that Ronaldo has recommended a move to Old Trafford to Trincao, while fellow compatriots Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot have also attempted to persuade the 25-year-old to join them in Manchester.

As a result, Man Utd are currently deemed to be the frontrunners in the race to sign Trincao this summer, with the Portugal winger reportedly now likely to join the Red Devils if they are able to finalise an agreement with Sporting.

His current contract with the Portuguese giants includes a €60 million release clause, although Barcelona will receive 50% of any transfer fee after including a sell-on clause when they sold Trincao to Sporting in July 2023.

Francisco Trincao to join Man Utd this summer?

Trincao has scored nine goals and provided 15 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions so far this season, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at a career high of €21.2m.

Ronaldo, who has reportedly urged Trincao to join Man Utd this summer, enjoyed two separate spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances across his time with the club.

However, he left by mutual consent before the 2022 World Cup following a bust-up with Erik ten Hag and his controversial comments during an interview with Piers Morgan.

Despite this, Ronaldo seemingly remains determined to help Man Utd and he has reportedly recommended the club to Trincao.
