Romano REVEALS Premier League club in contract extension talks with manager

Fabrizio Romano has announced that one of the Premier League’s most in-form teams are in talks over a new contract with their manager.
Crystal Palace endured a difficult start to the campaign but have been in excellent form since Christmas, losing only two of 14 matches in all competitions to climb into the middle of the table and progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Manager Oliver Glasner is set to be rewarded by the Eagles with a new contract, with Romano confirming that the club have opened talks with the 50-year-old Austrian.
“Crystal Palace have opened talks with Oliver Glasner over a new contract,” Romano reports on X.
“Discussions are underway between the club and the manager about his future plus, the budget for the summer and more.”

No doubt a major talking point will be the future of some of Palace’s key players.
Jean-Philippe Mateta is being courted by Manchester United at present, while there are also strong rumours linking Chelsea, among others, for a move for Marc Guehi.
Even if Palace are not in a position to guarantee the future of this pair, Glasner will want assurances that the London club are willing to invest in suitable replacements.

Glasner’s Crystal Palace record
Oliver Glasner first took charge at Crystal Palace in February 2024 with the club hovering just a few points clear of the relegation zone.
However, they finished the season strongly, winning six of their last seven matches, including victories against Liverpool and Manchester United, to pull comfortably clear of the drop zone.

Now the Selhurst Park side are enjoying another impressive campaign, with 10 wins from 28 Premier League games.
Overall, Glasner has won 23 matches with Palace and has lost only 13.
His current deal runs until 2026.
