Liverpool are aware they may have a lot of work to do in the transfer market to build on this campaign with a number of first team players on course to leave this summer, including the out-of-contract trio Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

And it appears their squad building plans are already in motion, with i reporting that contact has been made with the representatives of Milos Kerkez, with Liverpool aiming to move quickly to beat rivals to the signing of the Bournemouth left-back.

The Cherries have placed a price tag in excess of €40 million on Kerkez and, while no formal bid has been placed, the 21-year-old is thought to favour a move to Anfield over any other sides, leading to Liverpool director of football Richard Hughes making his move.

And Hughes will seemingly continue his raid on his former side by signing Dean Huijsen, with Liverpool also said to be ‘willing’ to activate the 19-year-old’s €60m release clause.

Kerkez hints at Liverpool transfer with Szoboszlai snap

Despite interest from the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United, Kerkez is hoping to link up with Hungarian compatriot Dominik Szoboszlai at Liverpool, having posted a picture of the pair on international duty this week on social media.

Kerkez would represent a natural successor to Andy Robertson, who, despite being a mainstay for Liverpool for many years, has shown some signs of a decline this season.

A move for Huijsen could also provide a replacement for Van Dijk if he was to leave Liverpool in the summer, with Paris Saint-Germain the latest side to try and sign the Dutch skipper on a free transfer.

With Liverpool also potentially needing to replace Salah and Alexander-Arnold, as well as address other areas, the big money deals for Kerkez and Huijsen would still give some room for manoeuvre in the market as the Reds prepare for a huge summer should they first seal their 20th Premier League title.
