Erling Haaland will quit Man City this summer if they are punished severely in the club’s trial for alleged breaches of financial rules.
A verdict in the much-publicised case is expected imminently, with City being charged with 130 alleged financial breaches.
An independent hearing has officially concluded following a four-year investigation conducted by UEFA.

Man City have denied any wrongdoing, but the club have been accused of failing to provide accurate financial information from 2009 to 2018, and failing to co-operate from 2018 to 2023.
If City are found guilty, there is a big chance that not only will they receive a heavy points penalty but they could even be relegated from the Premier League.
Reports in Spain claim that if this happens then Haaland will quit the club. El Nacional even reported earlier this week that Haaland would leave even if City are out of next season’s Champions League.
Haaland only just signed a new contract with City until 2034 but his future at the club remains in doubt.

Will Haaland move to La Liga?
For some time now, Haaland has been heavily linked with a move to La Liga at the end of the season - either to Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Haaland never intended to stay at City for the long term when he arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.
This is now his third season and he may also feel that he has achieved everything he wants to by the end of the current campaign.
The uncertain future of Pep Guardiola, who could also leave at the end of the season despite his contract extension, could also convince Haaland to depart.
The Spanish media have long reported that Haaland wants to move to La Liga next to join either Barcelona or Real Madrid, both of whom wanted to sign him when he left Borussia Dortmund for Man City in 2022.

Haaland scored an incredible 90 goals in 98 games in his first two seasons at Man City, winning every major trophy in the club game, including two Premier League titles and a Champions League.
He is also enjoying another goal-filled season this term despite City’s difficult campaign with 29 goals in 39 games.
