However, to fund their transfer business, Man City will be forced to offload a number of high-profile stars.

Below, FootballTransfers runs through five players who could leave Man City this summer.

Kyle Walker

Kyle Walker’s eight-year spell at Man City will almost certainly draw to a close when the 2025 summer transfer window opens.

The Premier League legend joined AC Milan on loan in January and the Italian giants reportedly have the option to sign him on a permanent deal for a mere €5m once the 2024-25 campaign ends.

Even if Milan opt against signing Walker, he is still expected to leave Man City this year, with his current deal at the Etihad Stadium due to expire in 2026.

John Stones

John Stones hasn’t made 25 appearances in a single Premier League season since his debut campaign at Man City and his injury-hit time at the club could end this summer.

The England international’s contract at the club will expire in 2026 and Man City may look to offload him as they aim to usher in a new era at the Etihad Stadium.

Furthermore, the January arrivals of Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Juma Bah suggest that Stones could be heading towards the exit door.

Ederson

Ederson was strongly tipped to leave Man City last summer, amid significant interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, but he eventually remained the club.

However, the Brazilian is expected to finally depart in 2025 after an underwhelming year in between the sticks.

Ederson’s contract is due to expire next summer and Man City are set to pursue a sale, with Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa lined up as a potential replacement.

Kevin De Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne has been a simply fantastic servant for Man City, however he is no longer at the peak of his powers and a move to the MLS on a free transfer beckons.

The Belgium legend will become a free agent in July and with Man City not expected to offer him a new deal, it has been widely suggested that he will secure a lucrative contract in the MLS.

De Bruyne will leave Man City as a six-time Premier League champion and one of the greatest players in Premier League history.

Jack Grealish

When Jack Grealish joined Man City for a British transfer record fee of €117.5m, he was expected to continue the sublime form he displayed at Aston Villa.

However, that simply hasn’t happened and he has been touted to leave the Etihad Stadium for a vastly reduced fee this summer.

Grealish has lost his place as a regular starter under Pep Guardiola and with two years remaining on his current contract, an exit is on the cards in 2025.
