Mateta to PUSH for Man Utd transfer as offer prepared

Crystal Palace want to offer Jean-Philippe Mateta a new contract, but the striker is expected to push for a transfer if no agreement can be reached by the summer, according to a report.
The Frenchman has emerged as one of the Premier League's most exciting players. Ever since Oliver Glasner took the reins at Crystal Palace a year ago, Mateta has been nothing short of sensational.
In 46 games under Glasner, the 27-year-old has notched 28 goals and provided four assists. His tally for the current campaign stands at 15 goals and three assists in 33 outings across all competitions.

Mateta has played himself into the spotlight with these numbers, so much so that Man Utd are willing to shell out €50 million for him, according to L'Equipe.
The Red Devils desperately need attacking reinforcements and it is claimed that they are looking at Mateta as a player who would add experience to their young attack.

Palace to offer Mateta a new deal
Due to the increasing interest in Mateta, Crystal Palace want to offer their star striker a new contract, according to TBR Football. They have already exercised an option to tie him to the club until 2027, but they are prepared to hand him improved terms.
However, in positive news for Man Utd, the report states that Mateta is likely to push for a transfer should no agreement be reached by the summer.

It is unclear whether Mateta is open to extending his stay at Selhurst Park, but it is no secret that the player is very content with his current situation and life under Glasner.
He is currently recovering from the horror challenge he was subjected to by Millwall goalkeeper Liam Roberts in the FA Cup. Palace still managed to beat Ipswich without him on Saturday to move within touching distance of the European places.
