The 45-year-old has been tipped to become the next Man Utd manager following the club’s dismal run of form since Amorim’s arrival, although he will only accept the job if certain conditions are met.

Xavi has already demanded the signings of Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araujo, according to a bombshell report in Spain, while he has now requested the sales of Alejandro Garnacho, Andre Onana and Matthijs de Ligt.

That is according to El Nacional, who state that Xavi wants a “deep cleanse” of the Man Utd first-team squad if he arrives at Old Trafford this year.

The former Barcelona head coach has reportedly identified Garnacho, Onana and De Ligt, who have a combined Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €161.5 million, as three expendable players, and he will look to offload the trio if Man Utd decide to hire him as Amorim’s successor.

Garnacho and Onana have both been heavily linked with a Man Utd exit in recent months, although De Ligt’s future at Old Trafford seems fairly secure following his arrival from Bayern Munich last summer.

Man Utd’s summer transfer plans

Amorim has already admitted that Man Utd will be required to sell before they can buy this summer, with Garnacho, Onana and De Ligt potentially set to be on the chopping block ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

In addition, Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof are expected to depart upon the expiration of their contracts, while Kobbie Mainoo could be sold amid his recent contract demands and significant interest from Chelsea.

In regards to potential incomings, Man Utd are pushing to complete a deal for on-loan Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen as they look to sign an adequate replacement for the misfiring Rasmus Hojlund.
