Arda Guler will look to leave Real Madrid permanently unless Carlo Ancelotti offers him significantly increased playing time in the final months of the season, according to Spanish media.

The Turkish wonderkid's dream move to Real Madrid has become a nightmare. Guler had the world at his feet when he burst onto the scene at Fenerbahce, but he has rarely been allowed to show off his talents since the summer of 2023.

A pre-season injury derailed his integration into the first team and he finished his debut season at the Santiago Bernabeu with just 13 appearances and 442 minutes of football under his belt.

He has already more than doubled these stats this term, yet there is still a lingering feeling that his career is stalling in Spain's capital. Guler has primarily been allowed to start Copa del Rey games, but regular minutes have been hard to come by elsewhere.

He was an unused substitute in the five games preceding Real Madrid's midweek Copa clash with Real Sociedad and speculation surrounding his future has been rampant.

Guler ready to quit

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti insists that there is no 'Guler case' and that the wonderkid needs to bide his time. However, it seems that Guler feels that he is more than ready to play regularly at the top level.

The 20-year-old showed at Euro 2024 just how devastating he can be, so it is unsurprising that Relevo now reports that Guler is ready to quit Real Madrid unless he gets regular playing time in the final months of the season.

The Spanish outlet writes that he is not merely looking to leave Los Blancos on loan; he wants to depart permanently. "Guler has everything very clear: he will not have another season like this," the report states.

Ideally, of course, the attacking midfielder would like to stay at Real Madrid. However, if he still feels that his pathway is blocked at the end of the season, he will push for a transfer and he will have no shortage of suitors in the summer.

Arsenal, Liverpool and, more recently, Bayern Munich have been linked with him. Whether Real Madrid will agree to sell him is a different question, although considering that they are looking to sign several players, he would provide a welcome windfall to fund the new arrivals.
