Tottenham Hotspur have been largely reluctant to spend big in the transfer market over the past few years and that theme could continue in 2025.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are in need of a number of reinforcements, however Daniel Levy will need to dip into his pockets to fund such transfer activity.

As a result, Spurs may be required to sell several first-team stars in order to afford new signings.

Below, FootballTransfers runs through five players who could leave Tottenham this summer.

Heung-min Son

Heung-min Son signed a contract extension at Tottenham in January, keeping him at the club until 2026, but an early exit still remains a possibility.

The Spurs captain has experienced a notable drop in his performance level this campaign and he has been linked with a summer departure amid interest from a host of clubs across world football.

Son remains a fan favourite and a sale this year is still fairly unlikely, but his long-term future at Tottenham is by no means guaranteed.

Richarlison

Richarlison seems destined to leave Spurs during the upcoming summer transfer window after losing his starting XI place to Dominic Solanke.

The Brazil forward joined the club for a whopping €58 million from Everton in 2022, but he is no longer a guaranteed starter and he reportedly wants to secure a transfer away this year.

A move to the Saudi Pro League has been mooted and Richarlison’s time at Tottenham is expected to end shortly.

Sergio Reguilon

Following loan spells at Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Brentford, Sergio Reguilon is finally expected to leave Tottenham on a permanent deal this summer.

The Spaniard will become a free agent in July and multiple Turkish Super Lig clubs have been tipped to pursue a Bosman deal when the 2025 summer transfer window opens.

At €30m, Reguilon has been a remarkably poor signing and Spurs will be happy to deduct his salary from their wage bill next season.

Ben Davies

Ben Davies has been a reliable servant for Tottenham since his arrival from Swansea back in 2014 and he will be remembered as a quietly successful signing.

However, his contract is due to expire this summer and despite rumours of an extension, Davies is currently expected to depart Spurs on a free transfer.

The north London side could offer him a new deal until 2026, but Davies is one of the more likely candidates to leave Tottenham this year.

Bryan Gil

Bryan Gil joined Tottenham from Sevilla back in 2021, but he has been sent back to Spain on loan three times since his arrival and a permanent move to La Liga is expected to take place this summer.

Gil is currently on loan at Girona and they reportedly have the option to make the deal permanent for €15m once the 2024-25 campaign concludes.

Gil has failed to break into Spurs’ preferred starting XI under a number of different managers and an exit is almost guaranteed this summer, with his current deal in north London due to expire in 2026.
