Leverkusen set REDUCED Florian Wirtz price amid contract uncertainty

Bayer Leverkusen have put a €120 million price tag on Florian Wirtz amid ongoing uncertainty over his future, according to German media.
On Monday, it was revealed that the general terms of a contract extension between Wirtz and Bayer Leverkusen have already long been agreed on but that the player still has not given his final green light.

Wirtz is still considering his next move, although a firm decision is expected to be made within the next month. The 21-year-old has suitors all around Europe, primarily at Bayern and in England, with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and especially Man City linked with the German.
Given this avalanche of interest, Wirtz is thinking long and hard about his future. Bayer Leverkusen's disappointing exit from the Champions League and lack of a genuine Bundesliga title challenge have reportedly planted some doubts in his head regarding an extension.
However, his family - and Leverkusen, naturally - believes that another season at the BayArena would be more beneficial for the prodigy. It would allow him to mature in a familiar environment and prepare for the 2026 World Cup without any distractions while being a guaranteed starter.

Leverkusen set Wirtz price
Sky Germany has now confirmed the reporting that a contract is ready for Wirtz and that he is still mulling over his final decision. However, the outlet adds that Leverkusen are preparing for the eventuality of their talisman leaving.
It is asserted that Bayer have set an initial price tag of €120 million to consider a sale this summer. This is quite a reduced fee compared to the €150m+ previously touted in the media and by club CEO Fernando Carro.

With potential add-ons and bonuses included, Wirtz's final price could rise to over €130m. His current contract still runs until 2027 and does not contain a release clause. His new deal would reportedly contain an exit clause for 2026 in the region of €100m.
The report adds that Wirtz is not only the top target for Bayern this summer but also for Man City. Pep Guardiola is said to be desperate to bring in the attacking midfielder, likely as a replacement for Kevin de Bruyne.
