Galatasaray are interested in signing Raheem Sterling this summer, according to Turkish media.

The former England international is in the midst of a hugely disappointing campaign. After being axed by Chelsea last summer, Sterling joined Arsenal on a season-long loan, but his impact has been minimal to date.

The 30-year-old has made 23 appearances under Mikel Arteta so far this term, providing four assists and scoring once. As things stand, Arsenal have no intention of negotiating a permanent deal with parent club Chelsea.

The Blues, too, do not appear to have any interest in keeping Sterling around and offering a second chance at Stamford Bridge. The winger is expected to be on the move again this summer, though his destination is not yet certain.

Sterling is a far cry from the explosive player he was at Liverpool and Man City, so his time in the Premier League may be coming to an end.

Galatasaray want Sterling

According to Fotomac, Galatasaray could offer Sterling an escape route out of England. The Istanbul giants are pursuing the attacker in hopes of securing a cut-price deal.

Sterling is said to be 'unhappy at Arsenal' and keen for a change of scenery. Given that Chelsea have no use for him either, the West London club may allow him to depart on an affordable deal.

Galatasaray view Sterling as a potential replacement for Baris Alper Yilmaz, who is perennially linked with a move to the Premier League by the Turkish press. The 24-year-old has netted 11 goals and provided five assists this season.

Former Leicester loanee Yunus Akgun is also drawing attention, so Galatasaray are prioritising the arrival of a new wide player. They are 'studying' whether a move for Sterling is feasible after already showing an interest last summer.
