These contracts are a “priority” for the Emirates side, who are seeking to tie down their academy talent before venturing into the transfer market this summer.

Both Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly, who are 18 years old, are on their first professional contracts with the Gunners but the pair are set for bumper increases following their breakthroughs on the first-team stage in recent months.

Lewis-Skelly’s deal expires in June, but there are thought to be no issues preventing him from signing a new five-year extension, while there is a little more breathing space with forward Nwaneri, whose contract expires in 2026.

Arsenal are also in talks with new contracts for Bukayo Saka, while discussions with William Saliba and Gabriel are set to take place as Berta gets to work.

Arsenal’s stars for the future

Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly are both fundamental players for Arsenal’s future, and this fact is underlined by their transfer values.

Nwaneri has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €54.6 million while Lewis-Skelly is worth €35.7m – a figure that is dragged down by the fact that his current deal expires at the end of the season. This makes them among the most valuable players U19 in the world.

These two talents are spearheading a new generation of talent coming through the Hale End academy, which is set to be added to by big-money signings.

In addition to Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly, Max Dowman has been earmarked as another major talent for Arsenal fans to watch out for in the coming months, with Mikel Arteta having established a clear pathway from the academy to the first team.
