Chelsea make Enzo Maresca sack decision after Fulham win

Chelsea have reportedly decided against sacking Enzo Maresca following their late 2-1 win over Fulham on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues looked destined for their ninth Premier League defeat of the season after a first-half strike from Alex Iwobi, but Tyrique George netted an 83rd minute equaliser before Pedro Neto smashed home a winner in stoppage time to keep Chelsea’s Champions League hopes alive.

The Stamford Bridge outfit’s first away win in nine league matches means they currently sit in fifth place in the English top flight table, although they will drop below Nottingham Forest if Nuno Espirito Santo’s side pick up at least a point against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday evening.
Champions League qualification remains in their hands, but Chelsea have a tricky set of fixtures left to play, with the Blues set to face Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Forest before the end of the campaign.
Despite the club’s inconsistent form in 2025, Clearlake Capital remain firmly behind Maresca and TBR Football claim there isn’t currently a scenario in which the Italian will be sacked.
Liam Rosenior has impressed at sister club Strasbourg so far this campaign, but rumours of Chelsea viewing the Englishman as a potential future head coach are reportedly wide of the mark, with the Blues continuing to back Maresca.

Chelsea under Enzo Maresca
Maresca is now expected to remain in charge at Stamford Bridge until at least this summer, meaning he will have the opportunity to win a European trophy during his debut campaign at the club.
Chelsea will face Djurgardens in the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League in May, while Fiorentina or Real Betis will await in the final if the Blues are able to progress.
However, their league form has been incredibly patchy since Christmas and a large section of Chelsea fans have urged their club to sack Maresca following a downturn in form that has seen the west London side pick up just 23 Premier League points from the last 51 available.
