Chelsea take SHOCK striker option: Boehly makes shrewd transfer decision

Chelsea are ready to take a low-cost route in the transfer market this summer when it comes to signing their next centre-forward, according to a report.
Lacking consistency in the No.9 area this season following an explosive start to the campaign from Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea will invest in a striker during the summer.
Names such as Victor Osimhen, Liam Delap and Viktor Gyokeres have all been linked with the Stamford Bridge side, yet the Blues are considering a low-cost option who they can sign easily.
Emanuel Emegha has been on red-hot form for Ligue 1 side Strasbourg this season, with Racing a club that falls under the BlueCo umbrella. A 22-year-old Netherlands U21 international, the striker has displayed admirable instinct in the box, netting an impressive 14 Ligue 1 goals for Liam Rosenior’s side.
And according to TBR Football, he could be on his way to Chelsea in the summer, with the Londoners “hugely impressed” with the striker.
The attractive factor about Emegha is the ease with which the Blues can sign him. While Chelsea’s other targets are all likely to involve stiff competition, there is no such problem with the Dutchman given that he would simply move from one BlueCo club to another.
Delap and Emegha to sign
It is claimed that he would leave Strasbourg to become competition for Jackson at Chelsea – but the Blues could still go on and sign Liam Delap, offering Maresca three front line No.9s next season.
This would tend to indicate that Armando Broja would be sold while it leaves the future of Marc Guiu under question.
Emegha has also caught the eye of West Ham United, Brentford and Fulham, while he has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €24 million.
One potential sticking point could arise if both clubs qualify for the same European competition next season. This could complicate deals between these teams, particularly with BlueCo being a majority owner of both.
Emegha, after all, fired Strasbourg a step closer to the Champions League next season with a tap-in goal against Saint-Etienne last weekend, the type of predatory finish Chelsea have often lacked this season.
