Fabrizio Romano: Man Utd to complete major signing ‘VERY SOON’

Manchester United will be able to celebrate their first major arrival of the summer transfer window “very soon”, according to football transfer news reporter Fabrizio Romano.
According to Romano, a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Matheus Cunha is looking very likely.
Cunha was close to joining Arsenal in January but instead signed a new four-year deal with Wolves that contains a release fee of €75 million (£62.5m). The Red Devils are now poised to trigger that clause and sign the 25-year-old Brazil international attacker.
Romano reports on X: “Manchester United keep working to seal Matheus Cunha deal very soon, plan confirmed since one week ago.
“Negotiations underway on final contract details for the Brazilian who’s keen on joining the project.”

Cunha 'loves' Man Utd
United had previously been told that Cunha “loves” the idea of joining Ruben Amorim’s side after enjoying an exceptional season with Wolves, where he has scored 15 Premier League goals.
Sky Sports reported: “Cunha thinks United are one of the biggest clubs in the world and their current Premier League position … would not put him off a potential move to Old Trafford.”
Romano has himself echoed this sentiment in a YouTube video.
“Man Utd believe they can close this deal for him very soon. Why? Because they’re prepared to pay the release clause of £62.5 million, but in instalments. So they need to get in contact with Wolves,” Romano said.
“Contact with the player’s side is going very well. Cunha is keen on the move, the project is attractive and the salary is being discussed.
“Let’s wait for the final steps of the story. The expectation is to see Matheus Cunha as the first signing of the summer for Manchester United. That’s the idea, that’s the plan.”
Cunha has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €62.6m, so while Man Utd are paying a small premium to trigger the release clause of the player, the transfer fee is not an outlandish one.
