Raphinha targeted by THREE Premier League clubs as €95m transfer battle erupts

Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are set to explore the possibility of making a major summer move for one of the leading candidates to win the Ballon d’Or.

The Premier League trio have been alerted to the possible availability of Barcelona winger Raphinha on the market this summer and, according to TBR Football, all three are considering launching a bid in the region of €93 million (£80m).

Such a deal would be a landmark for Liverpool, in particular, with the Anfield club never having spent that sum on a player previously.

Raphinha is said to be putting the feelers out in order to try to manufacture a potential summer move, with his representatives said to have contacted the Premier League teams to alert them to the potential availability of the 28-year-old. All three are known to be chasing additional wide attacking reinforcements.

Barcelona U-turn over Raphinha’s future?

Barcelona sporting director Deco indicated in the early part of the season that the club could be open to selling the Brazil international.

Since then, the former Leeds United star has put up numbers that have launched him into unexpected Ballon d’Or contention along with the likes of PSG’s Ousmane Dembele and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

Raphinha has 30 goals and 24 assists for the campaign as Barcelona chase a historic treble.

These figures put into serious doubt the Blaugrana’s desire to sell the winger, yet the club’s financial position is complicated and it may be he is sacrificed before his value begins to dip in 12 months. At that point, he may only have one year left on his contract while he will also be approaching 30, both important factors in pushing his price down.

With an Estimated Transfer Value of €76.5m, Barcelona’s asking price for Raphinha is a little above his market value but may just be enough to tempt all parties into a deal.
