Leroy Sane: Arsenal target turns down ‘HUGE’ offer with €45m contract still on the table

Arsenal have been given a major update on the future of Leroy Sane, the Bayern Munich winger who could act as an alternative to Nico Williams should they miss out on the Athletic Club and Spain star.
Sane could be available as a free agent in the summer as he has a contract that expires at the end of June.
The Germany winger is one of the most valuable players available on such a deal this summer, but that does not mean he will be easy to sign for the Gunners.
Sane has a €45 million offer on the table from Bayern, while he has been presented with another “huge” contract proposal.
Sane makes Saudi decision to prioritise one club
According to TZ Muenchen, the 29-year-old has been offered a blockbuster contract from Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Ittihad. They are said to be willing to pay him a massive salary.
Sane is poised to turn down any offer from Saudi, with his preferred option to remain with Bayern Munich.
The winger is locked in contract talks with the Bundesliga leaders, who are offering him a three-year deal worth a maximum of €15m per season. The drawback for Sane is that this contract is heavily incentive-based based while he has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the starting XI after a mediocre season by his standards.
Bayern’s new proposal to Sane is also somewhat short of the €20m-per-year deal that he is currently on.

Local reports indicate that there are details still to be agreed in his contract with Bayern, giving Arsenal hope that they might yet land the former Manchester City star.
Bild reported last month that Mikel Arteta had already opened talks with Sane, who he knows from his time at the Etihad Stadium.
It is unclear how talks with Arsenal have progressed since then, but with sporting director Andrea Berta a big fan of Nico Williams, the smart money looks to be on Sane staying with Bayern.
