The France U21 international has notched 19 goals and provided eight assists in 39 appearances across all competitions this term and he is being monitored by a number of top clubs across Europe.

Arsenal and Manchester United have both been heavily linked with a move for Ekitike in recent weeks, while Liverpool’s interest has now been confirmed by Anfield Sector (via Anfield Watch).

A source close to Ekitike has reportedly revealed that Liverpool are “pushing” to sign the Frenchman, with at least three Premier League clubs eager to land him this summer.

Newcastle United superstar Alexander Isak remains a key target for the Reds, although he is expected to cost in excess of €150 million and the Premier League leaders are aware that Ekitike is a far cheaper option.

Furthermore, the 22-year-old is open to moving to the English top flight and initial talks with his camp have already taken place.

Liverpool want Hugo Ekitike

A key reason why Liverpool are pursuing a move for Ekitike is their desire to offload both Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota this summer, as per Anfield Watch.

Both forwards are set to leave the club before the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign amid their inconsistent form over the past year, and Ekitike has been identified as a suitable replacement for the pair.

The Frenchman has four years remaining on his current contract at Eintracht Frankfurt, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €42.3m - the highest of his career.
