Man Utd, Liverpool and Man City to battle for Simons transfer

Xavi Simons is set to leave Leipzig this summer, with Premier League sides such as Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool interested in a deal, The Transfers Podcast understands.
Simons only joined Leipzig on a permanent deal last summer but a contract renewal in January saw the 21-year-old only commit his future until 2027, indicating that he may not be planning for a long stay with the Bundesliga side.

Leipzig are willing to cash in on Simons for the right price and the Dutch wonderkid has emerged as a candidate to replace Kevin de Bruyne at Man City, while Duncan Castles revealed that Bayern Munich are also in the mix.
“Manchester United are also very interested in Simons,” Castles said. “Their problem is an obvious one in that they don't have much money to play with, certainly not the kind of money that Leipzig are looking at as a sell fee. They will need to win the Europa League and to qualify for the Champions League to be able to afford such a deal. But he's on a list of players that they're looking at.
“I'm also told that Liverpool have asked questions about the player. And again, you look at the style of his play and you could see why he would be a fit to the way Liverpool plays.
“I think everything is set up for a sale this summer if Leipzig can convince one of those clubs to come in and spend the money that that they want for him.”
Bayern Munich interested in Simons and Wirtz
Castles also alluded to Bayern Munich’s long-term interest in Simons but he admitted that the German giants may struggle to sign fellow Bundesliga wonderkid Florian Wirtz, who Bayer Leverkusen have put a €150 million pricetag on.
“Bayern Munich have a long-standing interest in Simons, having tried to sign him last year, and he would be interested in going. I think he's trying to find out whether Bayern are ready to move for him again this coming summer,” Castles said.
“The guidance I have in Bayern Munich is that they are tight on financial fair play. They don't have a lot of money to play with unless they make sales. Which would suggest that Wirtz would be difficult for them.”
