Man Utd CHANGE Garnacho transfer stance in move no one saw coming

Alejandro Garnacho continues to be a controversial figure at Manchester United, with the Argentina international splitting opinion.
When Ruben Amorim arrived at Man Utd in November, it was thought that Garnacho might be a central player to the Portuguese’s plans, but instead he has struggled to win the trust of the former Sporting CP boss.
The 20-year-old was dropped along with Marcus Rashford for December’s Manchester derby, and while he has not been exiled in the same manner as the England striker, his impact has been limited.
Garnacho has made 52 appearances across all competitions for Man Utd this season, contributing a very commendable 10 goals and nine assists, yet he continues to be linked with a potential move to Chelsea or Napoli.
With Matheus Cunha set to arrive from Wolverhampton Wanderers, room for the Argentine in Amorim’s thoughts is set to be limited further. Funds also need to be raised to sign the Brazilian
The Red Devils face difficulty in complying with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), which has led to the suggestion that academy players could be allowed to leave as they are considered ‘pure profit’ deals.

Alejandro Garnacho: Price slashed by Man Utd
Man Utd have had a rethink over Garnacho’s future, but rather than retaining the South American, they have reassessed his transfer fee, which according to reports in Italy has dropped since January.
Cristiano Abbruzzese reports that United have slashed their price to €50 million, putting Napoli firmly in the picture to sign the youngster.
“An offer close to the high demands of the English club had already been made in January, which has now set the price at around €50m,” it is claimed (via Area Napoli).
“Antonio Conte’s arrival on the Napoli bench is linked to an ambitious and well-structured strengthening plan. Among the profiles indicated by the Apulian coach is Garnacho, who is considered perfectly compatible with the tactical principles of the coach.
“The Argentine’s ability to beat a man, combined with a growing tactical maturity, represents the ideal identikit for the direct and vertical football dear to Conte.”
During January, Man Utd were said to have turned down a bid of around €60m for Garnacho made by Chelsea, with the Red Devils holding out for €70m – a figure they appear to have reassessed.
