Man Utd admit transfer MISTAKE as Amorim tipped to complete €50m deal

Manchester United are reportedly keeping a “close eye” on Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga as they consider re-signing the Sweden international this summer.
Elanga, 22, spent nine years at Old Trafford before being sold to Forest in 2023, but his form under Nuno Espirito Santo has attracted significant transfer interest and Man Utd are among the clubs monitoring his situation at The City Ground.

That is according to CaughtOffside, who claim that Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping tabs on the 22-year-old’s form ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window.
Elanga has scored six goals and provided nine assists in 36 appearances across all competitions so far this season, and Nottingham Forest have reportedly slapped a €50 million price tag on his head in a bid to ward off suitors.
Elanga’s current deal at The City Ground isn’t due to expire until 2028, but Forest are already interested in agreeing a contract extension with the Sweden winger, as per CaughtOffside, although formal talks haven’t yet been initiated.
Despite this, an offer in excess of €50m may reportedly force them to consider a sale.

Man Utd want forward reinforcements
Man Utd’s pursuit of Elanga comes following reports that Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee and Antony could leave the club this summer.
All five players have been linked with numerous clubs across Europe and Ruben Amorim is expected to oversee a major squad overhaul ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, with the Red Devils set to pursue several new signings over the next few months.
In addition to Elanga, Man Utd are also interested in the likes of Antoine Semenyo, Tyler Dibling and Jamie Gittens, while Victor Osimhen, Liam Delap, Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike have all been identified as centre forward targets.
Elanga made 55 first-team appearances during his time at Man Utd, although he was sold in 2023 after playing a bit-part role in Erik ten Hag’s debut campaign at the helm.
