The Brazilian's January loan move from the Red Devils to Real Betis has been a resounding success so far. Antony has netted four goals and provided four assists in 12 appearances and is a guaranteed starter under Manuel Pellegrini.

The Seville-based club are currently on a six-game win streak, although they will come up against title-chasing Barcelona on Saturday evening in what is likely to be their toughest game of the season. However, after beating Real Madrid 2-1 last month, there will be a healthy level of confidence.

Betis are currently sixth in the LaLiga standings and six points off Athletic Club in the final Champions League spot, so there is still some hope that they can sneak into Europe's premier competition.

This would generate huge revenue for the Verdiblancos and would put them in a better position regarding a potential extension of Antony's stay in Seville.

Betis to 'crowdfund' Antony signing

Club bosses of the LaLiga side have made no secret of their desire to keep Antony around beyond this season, be it on a permanent deal or via another loan. However, as things stand, they simply can't afford this.

The former €95 million flop is on a sizeable wage and Betis already made a huge investment when they agreed to pay 84 per cent of his salary as part of his loan from Man Utd.

His good form, meanwhile, has increased his value, with the Red Devils now said to be hopeful of potentially securing as much as €50m for his services this summer.

Betis' star midfielder Isco recently joked that the club would have to start a crowdfunding campaign to be able to keep Antony, and this has now been echoed by defender Marc Bartra, with the former Barcelona man revealing that he and his teammates would be prepared to chip in.

When quizzed about Antony and Isco's comments, Bartra gleefully responded: "My teammates are willing. Whatever's good for Betis, let's go!"
