Although he is not yet eligible for a move to Old Trafford due to his age, he turns 18 in May, meaning that a deal could be struck.

And following the brilliant strike of the attacking midfielder at the weekend, it’s easy to see why United are interested in him.

Mora drove into the box before completing a roulette turn in a confined space to clear the way for a shot at goal, which he executed perfectly to give Porto the only goal of the game in their Liga Portugal clash.

Remarkably, it was his sixth league goal of the season, which he has a goal contribution close to every 90 minutes in a stunning debut season at the top level.

’First summer signing’

Mora’s strike has only seen the interest in him intensify, and according to A Bola, PSG have decided to make a move for the teenager. French media believe that PSG sporting director Luis Campos has picked him as the club’s “first summer signing”.

The teenager will not come cheap. He has a €65 million release clause but this is expected to be bumped up imminently, although it will not go as high as €100m.

None of this is good news for Amorim or Man Utd. Financially, the youngster looks too much of a stretch for them to sign, and though Mora shares Jorge Mendes as an agent with Manuel Ugarte, he also has a good relationship with PSG.

On top of this, the Champions League quarter-finalists also have a strong core of Portuguese players who will help lure Mora to the club.

Man Utd may want to sign Mora in the summer, but this young prodigy seems to be slipping from their grasp.
