Arsenal help Man City sign Cambiaso

The Gunners will sell Nuno Tavares to Lazio for just €6 million in June after the Portugal left back completes a hugely successful season on loan in Serie A.

Juventus will then move to sign Tavares from Lazio as a replacement for Cambiaso. Tavares has been arguably the best left back in Italy this season, delivering eight assists.

With Juve valuing Cambiaso at around €60-70m, they will make a huge profit bringing in Tavares, who would likely cost less than half that amount.

Cambiaso is a tactically very flexible and unorthodox player, who can interpret multiple positions and roles on the pitch.

Naturally, he is a both-footed full-back or wing-back who can play on either side. But he has also played as a winger and as a central midfielder for Juventus.

As a full-back, he loves to get forward and to invert by cutting inside and joining the centre of the field as a playmaker. He is technically excellent, creative and a good dribbler.

He can occasionally switch off, be too laidback and take unnecessary risks, leading to a few costly mistakes this season, but his ceiling for growth is high.

Cambiaso joined Juventus from Genoa in 2022 and after a season on loan at Bologna has established himself as one of Serie A’s best full-backs.

He has also been capped 13 times by Italy, scoring two goals. He played for Italy at Euro 2024.
