That is according to Globo Esporte, who report that the Brazilian side tabled an offer to bring the attacker back to his former club.

Jesus would like to leave Arsenal having fallen well down the pecking order at the Emirates.

The report adds that Palmeiras will make an improved offer before the January transfer window opens.

Jesus joined Arsenal from Man City for over €50 million in the summer of 2022 and enjoyed an excellent start to his Gunners career.

However, over time a combination of a lack of goals and fitness issues have seen Jesus fall down the pecking order.

So much so that manager Mikel Arteta now prefers playing a natural midfielder in Kai Havertz as a false nine rather than starting Jesus.

Additionally, Arsenal tried to sign another natural nine this summer.

Arsenal had been in negotiations for several weeks with Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko, and believed that a deal was all but done - with only some formalities to complete before the 21-year-old would agree on personal terms.

In the end Sesko signed a new contract with Leipzig but the Gunners remain interested ahead of the summer of 2025 and could return for the striker.

Jesus to leave Arsenal?

The 27-year-old Jesus has scored just 19 goals in 71 appearances for Arsenal.

Last season was something of a disappointment as he scored just four Premier League goals and eight in all competitions.

He is yet to get off the mark in 2024-25.

Jesus came through the youth academy at Palmeiras and went on to score 28 goals for the club before moving to Man City in 2016.
