Bukayo Saka: New Arsenal contract to give England star major new status

Arsenal are ready to make Bukayo Saka their best-paid player, with the 21-year-old attacking midfielder poised to sign a new contract with the club.

Since making his debut in the Gunners’ first team in 2018, Saka has quickly established himself as a key figure for Mikel Arteta’s side, helping them to the summit of the Premier League this season by scoring nine goals and creating eight more.

Out of contract in 2024, there had been some doubts over his future, with Manchester City thought to have been taking a close look at a player who has already won 24 caps and scored seven goals for England.

Saka, though, is ready to commit his future to Arsenal, where he has been since joining the youth academy from Watford in 2008.

Goal reports, meanwhile, that Arsenal are ready to reward the player’s status in their squad by offering him a bumper new contract worth £200,000 per week – making him the club’s highest-earning player.

Presently, Saka is thought to earn around £2 million per year – meaning this is a huge pay rise for the youngster.

Although there is no indication of how long Saka’s new deal will be, it is unsurprisingly described as a “long-term contract”.

Gabriel Martinelli recently signed a new contract with Arsenal, while William Saliba is the final member of the club’s outstanding trio of young players still to commit his future to the club.
