The summer window was a crazy one for Chelsea as they were once again one of the biggest spenders.

Article continues under the video

Mauricio Pochettino joined the Blues last summer, however he lasted just 11 months in charge and left by mutual consent on 21 May after a post-season review meeting.

The Blues subsequently announced on 3 June that Enzo Maresca had been appointed as their new manager.

Although Todd Boehly has overseen a spend of more than €1.2 billion on new players since arriving at the club in 2022, there has been no success to show for it, with the Stamford Bridge outfit finishing 12th in his first campaign as owner and sixth in 2023-24.

However, Chelsea continued to target a raft of promising young players, despite the evident need for more experience in the dressing room. Other high-profile targets such as Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney did not arrive.

The west London club signed Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Filip Jorgensen, Omari Kellyman, Aaron Anselmino, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Marc Guiu and Tosin Adarabioyo this summer, while Estevao Willian, Mike Penders and Kendry Paez will arrive in 2025.

In addition, Chelsea sold the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall and Omari Hutchinson, with Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva departing on free transfers.

Our Chelsea transfer live blog brings you all the latest news surrounding the Blues, including exclusives from our own reporters as well as checking out what the other big names are saying (including the likes of Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein).

Despite the window being closed, the Stamford Bridge rumour mill continues to be in full swing.

Ex-Blues youngster in the spotlight

The former Chelsea youth player, Tyler Dibling, is lighting up the Premier League for Southampton this season.

Stars injury update

Chelsea manage Enzo Maresca has given updates on Romeo Lavia and Malo Gusto before Tuesday's cup clash with Barrow.

Lavia is out, but could be available for Saturday's Premier League tie with Brighton.

Full-back Gusto is available for selection tomorrow.

Dewsbury-Hall set to start against Barrow

Enzo Maresca has hinted that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is set to start Tuesday's Carabao Cup third round tie against Barrow.

"We need to understand Kiernan was the main player at Leicester and he is not now," the Blues boss said.

"For him, you need to adapt, mentally you need to adapt. That period requires time to understand that and adapt. I am completely happy with Kiernan, the way he is doing.

"He probably [will start tomorrow]. We have a session this afternoon and I like to tell the players before."

Blues told to end striker search

Troy Deeney has told Chelsea to forget about signing a new number nine.

The former Watford striker suggested the Blues need to trust their current striker Nicholas Jackson in top form.

“This weekend is all about Jackson. " wrote Deeny in his BBC Sport column.

"Two great goals and an assist, all done before he was given a rest after 60 minutes. It was a fine day at the office for him.

“I'm quite critical of how many chances he misses for Chelsea and, if he wants to be the main man moving forward, he has to have more games like this. He grabbed hold of it, offered a threat in behind and scored goals.

“Chelsea don't need to buy another striker if he stays in this kind of form.”

Viera slams Rashford

Former Arsenal star Patrick Viera claims Erik ten Hag was right to leave out Marcus Rashford on Saturday against Crystal Palace.

"I think the manager [would have been] looking at the week of training and that would’ve helped to him to make a better decision," said the ex-France international.

"I think Rashford should ask himself why he doesn’t start at Manchester United and I think he has to do more because the manager, the club expect more from him.

"When he came on today I think he was disappointed and I think that didn’t help him.

"When a player like him is coming from the bench, he has to make a point and making a point is showing that the manager was wrong not to start him.

"And I think when you look at his performance today, I think the manager was right not to start him."

Blues watching Watkins

Chelsea are closely watching Aston Villa striker Ollie Watins, despite a strong start to the season by Nicholas Jackson.

Reports claim the Blues still plan to bring in a number nine and the 28-year-old England international is one of their targets.

Juve compete for Osimhem

Chelsea and Arsenal face competition from Serie A giants Juventus for the signature of Victor Osimhem from Napoli.

Caicedo top of his game

Enzo Maresca lauded Moises Caicedo for his 'top' performance in the demolition of West Ham in London on Saturday.

The 22-year-old was in the heart of midfield for Chelsea in the 3-0 victory.

"Yeah, top, top, the performance from Caicedo today, was very good," the Blues boss said.

"But since we start Moi has been fantastic. And today once again it was… he was top."

Inter keen on Chilwell

Ben Chilwell could be offered an escape plan out of Stamford Bridge by Inter Milan.

Reports from Italy suggest that the San Siro side are hoping to sign the England star on a six-month loan deal in January.

Maresca praises hard working stars

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca highlighted the hard work of Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer after the Blues comprehensive 3-0 win over West Ham.

"It was a complete performance and we are very happy," said the Italian gaffer.

"The way the players are buying the ideas and the different style since I arrived has been top.

"Also I think the way we are working off the ball – the performances of Nicolas [Jackson] and Cole [Palmer] were top, not only because they scored but because of the way they worked off the ball.

"If we understand that we need that desire then probably we can build something important."
