Chelsea face an important summer in the transfer market as they look to improve their squad further and appoint a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino.

Article continues under the video

The Argentine joined the Blues last summer, however he lasted just 11 months in charge and left by mutual consent on 21 May after a post-season review meeting.

The Blues subsequently announced on 3 June that Enzo Maresca will be their new manager.

Although Todd Boehly has overseen a spend of more than €1 billion on new players since arriving at the club in 2022, there has been no success to show for it, with the Stamford Bridge outfit finishing 12th in his first campaign as owner and sixth in 2023-24.

However, Chelsea continue to target a raft of promising young players, despite the evident need for more experience in the dressing room.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen initially headlined Chelsea’s summer transfer targets, but the Blues are also looking at alternatives, and many other deals could well be completed in a bid to get their squad into shape.

In addition, they are also looking to sign a new centre-back following the confirmation that Thiago Silva will be leaving, while a deal is in place to sign Palmeiras wonderkid Estevao for an initial €40 million.

Our Chelsea transfer live blog brings you all the latest news surrounding the Blues, including exclusives from our own reporters as well as checking out what the other big names are saying (including the likes of Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein).

The Blues are expected to see several players come and go, and the Stamford Bridge rumour mill is already in full swing.

BOMBSHELL

One major Huijsen worry

Chelsea and Liverpool are currently the two favourites to sign Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth.

However, both clubs have been warned that, should Real Madrid come calling, the player will move to Spain.

He has a current ETV of €56.3m. (Defensa Central)

Estevao defends Chelsea choice

Estevao Willian insists he made the right choice to agree a move to Chelsea, even though the club are currently struggling to qualify for the Champions League.

“I’ve told you many times that my biggest dream is to bring the World Cup home to Brazil,” he wrote in the Player's Tribune. "I think this transition to European football will help me grow even more as a player, especially since we’re going to one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"A lot of people are asking me why we chose Chelsea, but they don’t understand how much Chelsea wanted me, and how much belief they have in my potential. Those people don’t know about the project they presented to us. To a young player, these things matter a lot, and I know we’ve made the right decision to go to London.”

Arsenal look to get one over on Chelsea

Felix likely to return to Benfica

Joao Felix is in talks to return to Benfica this summer.

The Portugal international joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid last year but failed to make an impact in his first six months at Stamford Bridge which resulted in a loan move to Milan that has proved a disaster.

He will return to the Blues temporarily in the close-season before likely sealing an emotional return to former club Benfica. (Caught Offside)

WHAT a signing this would be

Chelsea's transfer wishlist

Chelsea will be busy in the summer transfer window and have a long list of players they want to recruit, for a number of positions. They have been linked with the following names...

Strikers: Jonathan David, Liam Delap, Hugo Ekitike, Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko

Wingers: Alejandro Garnacho, Jamie Gittens, Nico Williams

Centre-backs: Dean Huijsen, Jarrad Branthwaite, Marc Guehi

MAJOR club out of Osimhen race

Victor Osimhen will leave Napoli this summer in a deal worth an expected €75 million - but he won't be moving to Man Utd.

The Nigeria striker is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli and will leave the Italian giants on a permanent deal in the close-season, with Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona, PSG and Saudi Pro League Clubs interested.

It was originally believed that United had made Osimhen a priority signing for the summer, but David Ornstein reports that the player is not on the club's agenda.

MAJOR Huijsen boost

The battle for Rodrygo

Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea all want to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid.

The Brazilian has developed into a key player for Los Blancos over the years, but the forward line at the club has been left unbalanced following the arrival of Kylian Mbappe.

Madrid may look to sell Rodrygo for €100 million this summer to fund the acquisition of a new midfield playmaker. (Todo Fichajes)

Real Madrid want Enzo to replace Toni Kroos

Real Madrid view Enzo Fernandez as the ideal replacement for Toni Kroos.

The World Cup winner retired last summer and Los Blancos opted not to sign a direct replacement due to the arrival of Kylian Mbappe. That proved to be a mistake as Kroos has been sorely missed in the middle of the park.

Madrid will look to right-that-wrong this summer with a bid for Fernandez, though he would cost at least €100 million. (Siempre Con Argentina)

Chelsea, Arsenal, United and Liverpool want Dembele

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool are all considering a bid for Ousmane Dembele this summer.

The Paris Saint-Germain winger is enjoying the most influential season of his career and has been a key factor in the club reaching the semi-final of the Champions League, while Ligue 1 has already been sewn up.

He has a current ETV of €67.6m, though PSG would want significantly more as a transfer fee. (Caught Offside)

Do Chelsea need a new left-back?

Chelsea could abandon plans to sign a new left-back due to the progression of Ishe Samuels-Smith, who recently signed a six-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

The youngster is yet to make his debut for the Blues but is well thought of at the club, which could lead to plans being scrapped for a new left-back.

Chelsea have been linked with summer moves for Jorrel Hato, Antonee Robinson, Milos Kerkez and Theo Hernandez among other players in that position.

There is a feeling that Samuels-Smith could share duties with Marc Cucurella.

When will Estevao sign for Chelsea?

Estevao will officially become a Chelsea player after the Club World Cup.

The 17-year-old signed for the Blues last summer in an eye-watering €60 million deal, but has not been able to join up with the Blues yet due to his age.

He will play at the Club World Cup for Palmeiras before officially joining Chelsea, according to his agent Andre Cury.

"He's arriving after the Club World Cup," Cury told AS in a lengthy interview. "He's a world-class player. Very good. A guy who's going to make history here."
