That is according to Calcio Mercato, who report that Atalanta could be tempted into a sale for this amount if Ederson doesn't soon agree on a new contract.

Ederson's deal in Bergamo expires in 2027 and, while Atalanta want to prolong his stay, they will consider a sale if a new contract isn't agreed in the next months.

United are in the market for a top-class central midfielder this summer, with the likes of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen set to leave.

They are big fans of Ederson, who is considered by some as the best central midfielder in Serie A.

His brilliant performances for Atalanta have led to strong interest from the Premier League, with Manchester United and Liverpool particularly interested in the Brazilian. Real Madrid are also said to be fans.

Who is Ederson?

Ederson functions mostly as a box to box midfielder, but he can play as a defensive midfielder and as a more attacking central midfielder.

Importantly, he boasts intensity, fierce tackling and pressing, and superb stamina that sees him cover lots of ground and never stop running.

The Brazilian played a key role in Atalanta winning the Europa League last season and he produced a world class performance in the 3-0 thrashing of Bayer Leverkusen in the final.

Atalanta generally sell one big-name star each year, with Teun Koopmeiners sacrificed last summer to Juventus for over €60m.

The feeling is that Ademola Lookman or Ederson could be the next player to be sold for big money.

Ederson joined Atalanta from Salernitana in 2022 and has gone on to make over 100 appearances, scoring 12 goals.
