With a new structure above manager Erik ten Hag, the Red Devils saw significant changes under INEOS in the summer.

The Dutchman survived a two-week end-of-season review from the higher-ups at the club, and he even signed a contract extension at Old Trafford after guiding the club to FA Cup glory in May.

Off the pitch, there is now great hope with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS overseeing drastic improvements in the market.

They signed Manuel Ugarte, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee and Noussair Mazraoui in the summer, while Sekou Kone was brought in as one for the future.

Man Utd may attampt to land Sunderland midfielder Chris Rigg during the January transfer window.

Reports claim the Red Devils will fight off competition from Newcastle United for the 17-year-old.

However, there are allegedly many other top clubs also monitoring his progress at the Stadium of Light.

Man Utd target Sesko

Man Utd are reportedly set to rival Arsenal in the race to sign RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko.

Rio blasts Ten Hag ahead of Twente clash

Rio Ferdinand slammed Erik ten Hag over his treatment of Marcus Rashford during this weekend's draw with Crystal Palace.

It will be interesting to see how the England international reacts in tonight's Europa League clash with Twente, presuming he is selected.

Ten Hag's Twente love

Erik ten Hag faces his former side on Wednesday night, as FC Twente visit Old Trafford in the Europa League.

"I would have preferred to play against somebody else. It’s not nice to hurt something you love," the Dutchman said ahead of the game.

"Of all the teams, Twente is the team I follow the most. I watch them as a fan, as a supporter, not as an analyst. It’s a different way of watching their games.

"Twente brought me a lot, I was put through their academy, so for me great deal of history there."

Yoro eyes return

Reports suggest Leny Yoro is ‘desperate’ to be fit for Man Utd's trip to Emirates to face Arsenal on December 3rd.

Ronaldo exit a win for Ten Hag

Steve McClaren claims that Cristiano Ronaldo's departure from Man Utd was sign of Erik ten Hag's strength.

The former Red Devils assistant worked under the Dutchman for a period at Old Trafford.

“I couldn’t fault Ten Hag’s approach,” MacClaren told The Telegraph.

“He really handled it very well. I said at the time he was the right man to go in. That was shown in the way he handled Ronaldo.

“He came in with set standards. Set rules. Set way of playing. And if you didn’t run, you didn’t play. He was rigid on that. Which the Dutch are. He knew that was what was needed. There could be no flexibility, no way the players could manoeuvre.

“This is what you had to do – or you didn’t play. And he took on Ronaldo, and quite rightly. Other managers have tried to adapt. Erik didn’t feel it was necessary to do that. Ralf Rangnick had tried and it hadn’t quite worked out and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the same. So Ten Hag stuck to his guns and developed other players.”

Why United didn't sign Toney

Man Utd considered a late swoop for Al-Ahli-bound Ivan Toney in the transfer window.

The club had already signed Joshua Zirkzee earlier in the campaign but were reportedly keen on more reinforcements for the striker position a Rasmus Hojlund was injured at the time.

Ultimately, United didn't pursue a deal for Toney as he didn't fit the "profile" wanted by manager Erik ten Hag. (ESPN)

United monitoring Howe future

Man Utd are monitoring Eddie Howe's situation at Newcastle as they ponder over Erik ten Hag's future.

Howe is believed to have had a falling out with Newcastle director Paul Mitchell over the summer over the club's failure to sign key targets such as Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

The situation has cooled, but United are ready to pounce and appoint him, should Ten Hag be sacked. (Football Insider)
