Will Man Utd sack Ruben Amorim?

Currently, United do not intend to sack Amorim and are planning to continue with the Portuguese coach into the summer transfer market and beyond.

Football Insider reports on Monday evening that United ideally want a long-term project with Amorim built around younger players who will need time to develop.

However, so poor have the results and performances been under Amorim that if things deteriorate further beween now and the end of the season that the manager will become at risk.

The Europa League will be key to Amorim, as they face Lyon on Thursday in the second leg of their quarter final tie with the score at 2-2 from the first game in France.

United are enduring a disastrous season and are set for the worst year in the club’s history in the Premier League.

Amorim was only appointed in November as a replacement for Erik ten Hag but the results and performances have only got worse since his arrival.

Amorim enjoyed great success at Sporting Lisbon, winning two league titles and five trophies in total.

However, so far at United he has not got close to replicating his heroics in Portugal.
