Ten Hag ‘charmed’ by Amrabat

Sofyan Amrabat’s brother claims that Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag is “charmed” by the Fiorentina player.

Speaking to the media, he said: “Ten Hag is now looking for a striker, he wants that first. From there he will see what is possible. But I know that Ten Hag is charmed by my brother. He broke through under him and they have a good relationship, so who knows.”

United hatch Greenwood plan

Man Utd’s conundrum over how to deal with the Mason Greenwood situation could be solved by a loan deal, according to the Daily Mirror.

Greenwood has not played for Man Utd for 18 months because of personal and legal difficulties that have led the club to suspend him indefinitely. There remains doubt over whether he will pull on the shirt of the Old Trafford outfit again, but loaning him out could test the water and public reaction to the once-capped England forward.

’Crime’ to let De Gea leave

David de Gea’s future remains uncertain, but according to Man Utd coach Benni McCarthy, it would be a “crime” if they allowed him to depart.

Speaking to 947 Joburg, he said: “I get to spend every single day with him and he is an unbelievable guy, a great lad, very intelligent and one of the best goalkeepers I have seen.

“It would be a crime if Man United lose a goalkeeper like David de Gea.”

Nice waiting over Man Utd takeover news

It’s not just Ten Hag who is waiting in limbo over Manchester United takeover news – Ligue 1 side Nice do not yet know their budget for next season as they are holding for news of owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s potential buyout of the Red Devils, L'Equipe reports.

Nice expect to sign four or five new faces and must find a new head coach, but Ratcliffe’s Old Trafford offer has not stopped them from allowing Khephrem Thuram to agree personal terms with Liverpool.
