AC Milan have transfer listed Theo Hernandez and told the left back he can leave the club in January if the right offer arrives, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

Theo is having a very difficult season with the Rossoneri, struggling on the pitch and also enduring a number of off-field issues.

He was dropped for the 0-0 draw with Genoa at the weekend just days after manager Paulo Fonseca publicly criticised a number of unnamed players (one of them believed to be Theo) for their attitude and effort.

Theo is understood to not enjoy the best of relationships with Fonseca, while he has also been booed and insulted by fans recently.

Amidst all this, Theo has a contract that expires in 2026 and contract renewal talks have been labouring.

Tuttomercatoweb now report that while a contract offer of €5 million per season plus bonuses remains on the table for Theo, he is also being pushed towards the exit door having been told he can leave in January if the right offer arrives.

That right offer is believed to be €50m.

This will alert Manchester United, who are seen as the favourites to sign Theo in 2025.

The Red Devils are eager to sign a new left-back amid Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia’s recent injury woes, and while Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies is their priority target, Hernandez is also being monitored, as per Sky Germany.

Theo Hernandez at AC Milan

Theo was signed by AC Milan in the summer of 2019 from Real Madrid for a sum of €20m, with the legendary Paolo Maldini - then a director at Milan - the man who masterminded the deal.

At Milan he has developed into one of the best left backs in Europe, making well over 200 appearances and scoring 31 goals.

He played a key role in Milan winning the Scudetto in 2022 and has become famous for his trademark slaloming runs down the left flank.

He has been named in the Serie A Team of the Season on four occasions.

Theo has also won 36 caps for France, scoring two goals. One of these was in the semi final of the 2022 World Cup against Morocco.
