Man Utd, Real Madrid or Arsenal? Hojlund reveals dream transfer

Rasmus Hojlund continues to enhance his reputation as one of Europe’s hottest young forwards.

The 20-year-old Atalanta striker has been on excellent form at club level in Italy since the turn of the year and has continued that into the international arena, beginning Euro 2024 qualifying with a hat-trick against Finland and following it up with a double against Kazakhstan.

Such form has seen Hojlund touted as the ‘new Erling Haaland’, with a string of Europe’s biggest clubs now chasing him.

Manchester United and Arsenal have been linked with a move for the striker from the Premier League, where Newcastle are also thought to hold an interest, while Real Madrid are also reportedly in the running for a player who could be a long-term successor to Karim Benzema.

Which club does Hojlund want to move to?

Hojlund, meanwhile, has made no secret that his preference would be a move to Manchester United.

“Now that you ask, I will not hide the fact that I am a huge Manchester United fan,” he said in January

“So personally, it would be one of the biggest things for me, but of course that doesn’t mean that I would turn down other big clubs if the offers come at some point.”

Reports in Denmark suggest that Atalanta expect bids around the €25-34m mark for the forward, who has scored seven goals for the club since the turn of the year.

According to FootballTransfers’ data, Hojlund has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €19.5m – up from €1.5m when he signed for the Italian side from Sturm Graz in the summer of 2022. Should his value continue to grow at its current rate, Atalanta’s valuation looks accurate.

Atalanta will hope to secure at least that figure for the youngster, particularly with the possibility of a bidding war emerging for the player.

Manchester United, though, appear to hold an edge in the transfer race for Hojlund should they wish to move for the striker.
