Messi, 35, joined Inter Miami this summer and has already been joined by ex-Barcelona team-mates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

The pair became free agents upon the expiration of their Blaugrana contracts at the start of July and opted to follow Messi to Miami.

Now, Suarez is feeling left out and wants to leave Gremio to join three of his former Barca team-mates in the MLS. The Uruguayan forward, 36, joined Gremio on a free transfer in January 2023 after spending six months at boyhood club Nacional following his exit from Atletico Madrid.

He has been heavily linked with joining Inter Miami, with the MLS side keen on bringing him in, but his contract at Gremio has complicated things. His deal at the Brazilian club does not expire until December 2024, but Suarez is willing to pay a substantial amount to convince Gremio to let him move to Miami.

According to Diario AS, Gremio are aware of Suarez’s desperation to leave this summer, and don’t want a disruptive presence in the squad. This could force their hand and let the former Liverpool man leave.
