Victoria Beckham has taken to social media to mock husband David after the Inter Miami co-owner slipped during Lionel Messi's presentation.

Messi completed a shock move to Inter last Saturday, spurning the advances of Saudi Arabia and former cub Barcelona on expiry of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

Miami merchandise sales had already surged by 4,500 per cent on news of Mess's impending arrival, and Inter's 21,000-capacity DRV PNK Stadium was packed out for his official unveiling on Sunday.

Torrential downpour had delayed the event by a day, but the wet nearly did for David Beckham anyway, with the former Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy star slipping on a platform on the way to the centre circle.

Former Spice Girl Victoria shared a video of the moment on TikTok with the caption: "He's not a natural on the catwalk."

Beckham sees the funny side

Beckham also saw the funny side, writing "I mean" with a laughing emoji on his own Instagram stories.

"Thank you very much," Messi told his new supporters. "First of all I want to thank all the people of Miami for this welcome, this affection...

"I'm very happy to be here with you. I want to thank Jose (Mas, Miami co-owner), David for the welcome…"

Messi was unveiled alongside his former Barca teammate Sergio Busquets on Sunday, and a host of big names from European football have been tipped to follow them to the MLS club.

Beckham's co-owner Jose Mas admitted recently that the club were also in talks with Barca stars past and present in Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba, while former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is, like Messi, available on a free after the end of his PSG spell.

Messi is expected to take part in an opening training session in Miami on Tuesday before making his debut in the newly formed Leagues Cup against Mexican side Cruz Azul on Friday.
